Throughout history, jewellery has been a form of art with both aesthetic and functional characteristics, and it has thrived with emerging methods. While the inlay technique is applied by placing different metals or stones into the slots created by carving on a metal surface, the relief technique is based on the principle of creating a pattern by adding volume to the metal surface. Both techniques have significantly contributed to reflecting the artistic and symbolic expressions of different cultures throughout history, as well as creating an aesthetic value in jewelry art. Today, inlay and embossing techniques continue to be practiced with both traditional and technological methods. Although the traditional hand processing methods have been replaced by modern techniques such as laser technology and CNC machines, the importance of preserving the depth of craftsmanship and artistic integrity persists. This study aims to examine the historical development of inlay and embossing techniques in jewelry, their application methods and their artistic and cultural values.
